PLR stands for Private Label Rights. When you have PLR rights to content you can use that content anyway you would like to.
What it boils down to is this. . . .
PLR author writes up content either as an article, pack of articles, or actual ebook on any given subject.
PLR author sells the content to others that are in need of it either because they cannot write themselves, or just don’t have enough time to do it.
PLR buyer purchases author’s content and is given a Private Label Rights license that allows buyer to claim content as his/her own without giving any additional credits. It is as if buyer has written the content themselves.

PLR articles can do a lot of things for your business. The content is written for you. You can change a few sentences to make it truly your own but basically if you buy quality content it saves you a lot of time.
There are a lot of reasons to use PLR content. You can add it to an existing site or use it to build as many niche sites as you can think up. All sites need quality content to get and keep visitors. Do your research and watch where you buy the PLR content. Make sure you are getting good value for your money and not tired old content that is all over the web. I am starting a short list of sites here that I have either used myself or heard great things about. I will add to them as I find good ones.
