A sixty year old grandmother found hers, my husband found his. Can you discover yours? What am I taking about? Your true calling or your second career, however you want to look at it.

What makes your heart go pitter patter? No I don’t mean chocolate or some cute movie star. I mean everyday as in the type of work you do. Is it still fun after years and years of doing it or have you been slogging away at an unrewarding career? Maybe you just haven’t found what you really love to do yet.
My husband has worked a government job for most of his career even the 10 years he spent in the Marines. A few months ago he was shopping with me and decided to buy some plain old lined notebooks to take to work with him because one of the places he works is pretty boring. He wanted some place to doodle or jot things down, hench the notebooks. 6 months later he is finished with his first book, yes I said book! It is a science fiction novel with a very new twist. Something no one has ever written about before. He came up with his ideas just out of the blue one day he said and the words just poured out. Our daughter is doing the editing as we speak and a friend of his is working on the unique artwork. My husband has since started on the second book in the series!

All this just happened one day. Kind of the same way as the grandmother who had a dream. I wonder if we are just meant to have a second career or if some folks are just late bloomers? What is your take on this subject. What is it and are you enjoying your second career?
